Outlander

Outlander
Claire Randall is leading a double life. She has a husband in one century, and a lover in another...
In 1945, Claire Randall, a former combat nurse, is back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon—when she innocently touches a boulder in one of the ancient stone circles that dot the British Isles. Suddenly she is a Sassenach—an "outlander"—in a Scotland torn by war and raiding border clans in the year of our Lord...1743.
Hurled back in time by forces she cannot understand, Claire's destiny in soon inextricably intertwined with Clan MacKenzie and the forbidden Castle Leoch. She is catapulted without warning into the intrigues of lairds and spies that may threaten her life ...and shatter her heart. For here, James Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior, shows her a passion so fierce and a love so absolute that Claire becomes a woman torn between fidelity and desire...and between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.
Swoon....Outlander by Diana Gabaldon is the first in her "Outlander" series that follows the lives of a married couple throughout major events in history.. Now, these books are not for the faint at heart. Each of the bad boys in this series are think enough to rival a phone book, around 600 pages each. However- It is totally worth it. This is genre fiction like no other it fits into pretty much every category you can think of- fantasy, romance, drama, action, historical.. There is something for everyone in this book. Hell, in this series- mostly..What I have found from trying to force these onto anyone and everyone I know is that it is either something you completely love, or totally hate. Having obsessively read every page in the series, I am a lover of all things Outlandish.
It is a pretty simple plot line.. Wife and husband go on vacation, wife falls into a time warp and is jettisoned back 200 years, where she meets husband's dastardly relative and must marry another man to save her own skin, then falls in love with said man (Jaime Fraiser.. <3) , defeating evil and making history along the way.. Well, maybe not so simple after all..  Do it.. you know you want to read it... What isn't to love about strapping men running around in kilts?

Slave

Slave (The Cat Star Chronicles)He may be the last of a species whose sexual talents were the envy of the galaxy.
Cat is an enslaved warrior from a race with a feline gene that gives him awesome beauty, fearsome strength, and sensuality and sexual prowess unmatched by any other males in the universe. Even filthy, chained, and beaten, he gives off an aura of power and virility and his feline gene gives him a special aura.
Jacinth is an intergalactic trader on a rescue mission and she needs a man she can trust with her life.
She has spent years pursuing her kidnapped sister from planet to planet. Now her quest leads her to a place where all the women are slaves. "Jack" needs a slave of her own-one who can masquerade as her master.
Enmeshed in a tangle of deception, lust, and love, they must elude a race of violent killers and together forge a bond stronger than any chains.

Slave (The Cat Star Chronicles) by Cheryl Brooks, the first in the Cat Star Chronicles, has to be one of the most interesting romance novels I have ever read. Now, I still haven't decided if that is a good, or a bad thing. Jacinth is on a mission to save her sister. In order to do so she needs to by a slave to allow her to pose as his slave.. Still following? Jacinth finds Cat. He instantly forms a bond to her and decides to stay with her forever. Now, sweet as that may sound, it is a bit creepy to me. Also creepy? The description of his.. well, his member.. It is described over, and over and over and I am still a bit confused. Maybe because it just sounds gross to me. Also, he has magical orgasm inducing fluids that are emitted from his.. member.. Now, while this is an interesting concept, it also makes me a little sad I don't have a Cat of my own. Straddled with self-loathing and the self esteem of a paper bag, Jacinth and Cat set off to find her sister. The sister Jacinth is sure will steal the heart of her beloved Cat. On and on and on she goes about how much better her sister is. It made me want to punch her; that and her penchant for using "old time" phrases and references- things like scumbag and ET. REALLY? No. Sorry.  This story is set off by the main setting, the planet where women are slaves, chained to their men. Women and men on this planet openly have sex any and everywhere. At dinner, on the dance floor. Hey, getting a little unruly? Why don't I service you in the town square? A very interesting culture to say the least, not to mention that the men wear pants that resemble chaps- with nothing underneath, to allow the women easy access to their... members.
Overall, I didn't hate it. It isn't something I would mind reading the other books in the series, but I am not sure I would buy them. Maybe if someone lent them to me I could make the time.
